Wait worth while for Akzar
Akzar made a winning debut when taking the concluding Ladbrokes.com Maiden at the Curragh for John Oxx.
The Agan Khan's colt was produced to lead at the furlong pole by Fran Berry but had to knuckle down to get the better of Be My Storm
The pair had a good duel inside the final furlong with just a neck seperating them at the line.
"It was a goodish maiden. He's a nice horse and well-bred. It's nice to get him on the track - it took a long time," said Oxx.
"We'll step him up to a mile-and-a-half. Winning first time might be a bit of a disadvantage as we'll have to run him in something good.
"We'll see how he goes. He'll have to keep improving but he's a nice attractive horse and goes well on the ground."
