Wachman doubles up with Unity
David Wachman completed a double in the concluding maiden at Fairyhouse when Unity ran out a cosy winner under Johnny Murtagh.
The daughter of Sadler's Wells hit the lead over a furlong out and soon had things in command.
She was eased down as Alburj stayed on in the closing stages and the runner-up had to check near the line as Murtagh's mount drifted left.
"That was good. She deserved to win it," said Wachman afterwards.
"A mile-and-a-half was always what she was crying out for. We'll look at some of the staying Group races for her. The likes of the Noblesse and Give Thanks in Cork and maybe the Lancashire Oaks."
Wachman had also struck earlier in the seven-furlong maiden with the Wayne Lordan-ridden School Holidays
