- Voler La Vedette wins Boyne Hurdle
Voler La Vedette wins Boyne Hurdle
Colm Murphy’s Voler La Vedette who had contested Grade 1 races on each of her last three starts, appreciated the drop back in grade at Navan today, winning the Grade 2 ladbrokes.com Boyne Hurdle, under Andrew Lynch.
In-demand Lynch, who before today had ridden in 473 races this season, produced Voler La Vedette to lead at the final flight, eventually staying on well for a comfortable win over Rigour Back Bob
Afterwards Lynch stated “that’s only my third ride for Colm and Voler La Vedette travelled really well over today’s 2m5f trip. Two miles is probably a bit too sharp for her and she was finding it easier to travel today. I was always confident she would ‘pick up’ when I needed to ask her.”
Trainer Murphy’s father Pat Murphy added “Voler La Vedette is not going to Cheltenham and we’ll aim her at the Red Mills Hurdle at Gowran next Saturday and then concentrate on Fairyhouse and Punchestown.”
