Voler La Vedette impressive at Down Royal
Barry Geraghty deputised for the injured Matt O’Connor aboard Voler La Vedette to land the WKD Core Hurdle Grade 3.
Geraghty who was never too far off the pace on the Kings Theatre mare hit the front travelling well before the last and the pair kept on in good style for a thirteen length win over Go Native
A delighted Murphy said afterwards: “That was a good performance and she seems to be improving all of the time and it was a big ask today.”
“We’ve no immediate plans for her, she'll probably run at Leopardstown over Christmas."
" I don’t know if she’ll have run before then, she won’t if the ground remains the same.”
Noel Meade said of Go Native who filled the runner-up spot: “We’re not overly disappointed, Paul was blaming the ground mostly."
"If he comes out of the race well we’ll probably go for the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle.”
Sean Graham Bookmakers have quoted Voler La Vedette at 12/1 for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.
