Viking Invasion powered clear inside the final furlong to open his account in fine style in the mile maiden at Gowran Park.
The Joseph O'Brien-trained colt was back in maiden company today having finished mid-division in a valuable sales race at the Curragh last month.
Dylan Browne McMonagle went to the front turning for home on the Mehmas colt and the 10/3 shot was asked to kick clear over a furlong out, going on for a six-length win.
The winning rider said afterwards:- “He’s improved a lot for stepping up in trip. It was just a bit sharp for him the last day.
“He handles this ground and quickened up well.
“He’s a colt with plenty of potential and hopefully can keep on improving.
“He stays that trip well and will have no bother getting a mile and a quarter next year.” Light As Air went to post 4/6 favourite but proved disappointing, coming under pressure turning for home and eventually finishing third.
