La Petite Coco won on debut for new connections, owners Team Valor and trainer Paddy Twomey, at Killarney today landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction (Fillies) Race on her third career outing.
Twice-raced previously for trainer Andrew Kinirons, La Petite Coco shaped with promise when finishing an unlucky in-running fourth at Naas in March and was subsequently sold to the prominent American-based owners.
Today, under jockey Bill Lee, the three year old filly went clear of her rivals in the final furlong to score an impressive 4.25L win over 94 rated Belle Image which was conceding 6lbs.
Twomey later stated “it was her first run for us so I'm thrilled. Team Valor are very good supporters of mine and it is great to train another winner for them.
“In Naas she looked impressive and has confirmed that it was accurate here today.
“I thought we'd see how today went and then make a plan - her owners are ambitious. Today's trip would be her minimum and, I think, the last Ruler Of The World who broke her maiden here was Iridessa (Breeders Cup Filly And Mare Turf winner).”
