Beechmount Whisper finally rewarded his connections with a maiden win following eight previous placed efforts, in the concluding 'Colours Bar' Handicap at Leopardstown this evening.
The son of Kodiac's form figures read '3223233-2' coming into today's race and ridden by Chris Hayes today, finally came good, arriving late for a half length win over Firecrown
Afterwards winning trainer Patrick Prendergast stated “he's a victim of his own consistency, and has been picking up penalties for trying. Tomorrow he'll get a winning penalty, and we'll take that on the chin.
"The owners are relations of my mother's from Naas. They have been very patient, and I'm delighted for them.
"He's a trier, and one day will jump a hurdle. Chris said he can win another one if I do my job right!"
