Vic leaves the bookies feeling Blue
Blue Vic reversed previous Bellewstown placings with Magnetic Force and, in the process, landed a bit of a touch when getting up close home under a determined drive from Tim Carroll in the Harp Lager Handicap Hurde.
The 6/1 chance (from 8's) was 6lb better off for a six length beating last time, and responded to every call as he got up in the closing strides to pip Magnetic Force (5/1) by half a length. Gorgeous Gael (20/1) also came home strongly on the run-in and was just a short-head back in third.
Winning trainer Tom McCourt said: “He was wrong after his second last run here so we let him off for a month, and then he ran too free at Bellewstown last time. He's still learning as he ran about a bit there. He'll be a nice horse to go chasing with though.”
