Willie Mullins completed a double at Naas today when his Killultagh Vic justified 4/9 favouritism to win the concluding Tipper Road (Pro/Am) Bumper, under the Champion Trainer's son Patrick Mullins.
The son of Old Vic was held up in mid-division before being produced with his challenge early in the straight. On Your Eoin gave the winner's connections plenty to worry about in the closing stages but in the end, Killultagh Vic maintained the gallop for a length and three parts win.
Mullins, whose Ivan Grozny won the opener, stated “his (Killultagh Vic) run in Navan was good and I'd say they're two good horses (winner and runner-up) today, as I think a bit of mine.
“I think that is the ground he wants but he was very keen; if they go faster on better ground it would help him to settle better. We'll try for a winners' bumper now; I think he's a chaser in the making but he'll go hurdling next season.”
