Vedette claims mares' race in style
Voler La Vedette looked a class act when claiming the Grabel Mares Hurdle at Punchestown.
Sean Flanagan 's mount tracked the leaders before moving smoothly to the head of affairs early in the straight. Give It Time threw down a challenge but had no answer as the Colm Murphy-trained mare went clear on the run-in for a cosy four-and-a-half length victory.
"She's improving and is an awful lot stronger this year," said Murphy.
"I imagine she'd go for the race in Down Royal for second season novices. We'll let her decide which route to go this year."
