Urban Sea's direct descendant Lily Pond made an impressive winning debut today, landing Dundalk's Irishinjuredjockeys.com (Fillies) Maiden at 7/1, for Ballydoyle and under Champion Jockey Colin Keane.
Lily Pond (by Galileo) is the great great granddaughter of Prix de l'Arc winner Urban Sea, the dam of Galileo and Sea The Stars, and while friendless in the market, quickened smartly to score by two and three parts of a length from Selador
Winning trainer Aidan O'Brien's representative Chris Armstrong later said "she's a lovely filly with a lovely pedigree. She's from the family of Galileo so Aidan will step her up to one of the Oaks Trials next and then we'll go from there.
“She got a lovely ride from Colin and hopefully can step up to the next grade. All being well, she will eventually make a lovely broodmare."
