Uradel springs surprise on return from a break

The outsider of the six runner field at 14/1, Uradel made a mockery of his status in the market by running away with the Paddy Power Betting Shops Rated Novice Hurdle at Naas.
As this race developed in the straight it was apparent that Danny Mullins was sitting pretty in behind on the Luke McMahon-owned and Willie Mullins-trained Uradel.
Mullins also sent out the 5/2 market-leader, Contingency but she was laboured as they crossed the final two flights.
Uradel, not seen since winning at Listowel in June, went on from before the last to dispose of Best Behavior by seven lengths. Wigs On The Green was feeling the pinch when falling at the second last.
"That was a nice surprise," said Mullins.
"We'll look for another winners race for him. We'll keep him to the same type of race.
"His break obviously did him the power of good."
