The Paddy Twomey-trained Understate made it third time lucky when claiming the mile maiden at Navan this afternoon.
Billy Lee bounced out in front on the 11/8 favourite and kicked for home two furlongs from home.
The son of Oasis Dream was chased in the closing stages by California Jumbo but had enough up his sleeve to hold on for a neck success.
The winner had been well backed when finishing fifth on his debut here in late April and had finished runner-up at Listowel just last Sunday.
“Sunday was no harm and was an ideal prep for this,” said Twomey.
“He's a nice horse and I was hoping he could go and do that. I'm thrilled and he looks progressive. I bought him as a foal and it's nice when it works out.
“I'd say he'd like a couple of days off now!”
