- Ultra easy win for Cool
Ultra easy win for Cool
The feature race at Roscommon this evening the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap went to the Adrian McGuinness trained, Johnny Murtagh ridden Ultra Cool who was returned at 7/1.
The 4yo, daughter of One Cool Cat was having her first run over a mile and two today and relished the step up in trip.
She settled in mid-division early on, before making good headway to lead a furlong out. She asserted from there and kept on well to score by four lengths at the line.
Before today she had two wins to her name, having won a handicap over the course at this meeting last year and another handicap at the Curragh in October. Glamorous who was backed from 4/1 this morning into 7/4 favourite on track couldn't match the winner but kept going to take second with Dart Queen for Arthur Moore a half a length back in third at 7/1.
Winning trainer Adrian McGuinness said afterwards: "That's the first time we stepped her up in trip. She was always finishing her races well and she got the trip well.
"She ran a cracker at Galway and deserved that win.
"She hasn't run a bad race all year and she is in again during the week (Tipperary on Thursday) and if she comes out of this ok, she could run again."
