UK-bound Ricky Langford bags fifth win

Ricky Langford (8/1) notched a fifth career success today, landing Wexford's Tote Handicap Hurdle for trainer Philip Rothwell and jockey Paddy O'Hanlon.
The nine-year-old Alkaadhem-gelding has won every year, and twice in 2021, since a debut success over today's course-and-distance in September 2020 and moved his earnings past €50,000 with a two and a quarter lengths win over Crafty Gael this afternoon.
Rothwell commented “he has been a good, fun horse and has won five races for us now. He is owned by the Kings Horses Syndicate - I was in school in Kings Hospital in Dublin and a bunch of friends from there own him. I gave him to them a few years ago and he has been great and has near enough paid his way.”
He added “hopefully we'll get another day out of him but ultimately is for sale and is one that will be going to England this year. There is a ladies' race in Cartmel in a few weeks time and we might go over there with him - a few of the lads from the syndicate are living in England now.
"He would be a super horse for England on good ground — he'd nearly be a 'Saturday horse' in handicap chases over there.”
