Off a 134 day break Robert Tyner produced the well-backed Dontdooddson fit and well to win the Leo McMorrow Memorial Novice Handicap Chase at Sligo under stable jockey Philip Enright.
Not seen since disappointing in last place at Tramore in May, this was much more like it from Dontdooddson, victorious in a Clonmel handicap hurdle in November 2018.
Owned by Brendan Keogh, so well-known in the greyhound world, the sweet-travelling French-bred was clinging on at the end, prevailing by half a length from Fruits Of Glory
The runner-up was unfortunate as he pecked at the back of the last.
“He jumped well and travelled well but the race probably fell apart a bit at the first where Father Jed made a mistake. I was happy to see the line coming," reported Enright.
he Stewards requested a report from Robert Tyner, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Dontdooddson (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The Trainer's Authorised Representative, Mary Tyner, reported that this horse had disappointed last time after some jumping errors but had come back to the yard in better form after his summer break. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
