Two-year-old Bellewstown brace for Joseph O'Brien yard

There was a Joseph O’Brien double in the two-year-old races at Bellewstown, brought up by Snapraeterea (100/30 into 7/4 favourite) in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series (C & G) Maiden.
Half-an-hour on from the win of impressive filly, Pretty Gorgeous under Shane Crosse, it was Declan McDonogh that did the steering on another first-timer, Snapraeterea.
He was keen, and then lost his stride pretty badly at the road crossing when in front a hundred and fifty yards out. To his great credit though he pulled out enough to beat No Patience by half a length.
“That was nice. He was another horse that had been going well at home,” said O’Brien stable representative Brendan Powell.
“John (Farrell, owner) bred him and he's a half-brother to Snapraeceps. He went to the sales and didn't make his reserve so he put him in training so that's nice for him and he's from up around this way.
“He did everything wrong there, he was keen early and then when he got to the road he went all over the place.
“In all fairness to him he battled on well in the end. He's done it nicely. That's two two-year-old winners first time out today and the prize money here is unbelievable. Those two races were 50 grand between the two of them.”
