Jockey Adrian Heskin recorded his 13th winner of the new season when steering 2/1 favourite Bashful Beauty to win the opening www.wexfordraces.ie Maiden Hurdle at Wexford today, scoring a second winner in two days for trainer Norman Lee.
The winner gave chase behind clear leader Hard Fought for much of the race but Heskin produced the son of High Rise with perfect timing to lead on the run-in, for a two lengths win over Cacheofgold
Afterwards Lee stated “It's good to be meeting ye (the press) again!
“He was overdue that and we fancied him and had a few quid on him. He might go for an Opportunity Handicap Hurdle on the Sunday at Galway next and is a little horse that is improving all the time.
“Adrian gave him a perfectly judged ride and is a top class rider and a gentleman to ride for you. He does what he is told and that’s all you can ask for.
“We've had a great twenty-four hours and I can’t really talk as my voice is gone from roaring at them!
“We've him (Bashful Beauty) and Supreme Vic for Galway and both are owned by Paul Mullins from Tuam.”
