Two from two for Townend at Wexford

Paul Townend made it two wins from two rides at Wexford today when Ganapathi recorded a battling success in the Freddie Doyle Memorial Novice Chase.
The Willie Mullins-trained gelding was sent to post even-money favourite on his chase debut and was prominent throughout in the two-miler.
It boiled down to a duel between himself and Genois after the second last and there was little between the pair on the run-in.
Townend just conquered a bit more from Ganapathi late on to secure a length-and-a-half success.
“He jumped great and there is room for improvement,” said Townend.
“I'd say the ground helped him as well and it's a help that he will handle that better ground.
“The fences have revived him a bit. He travelled well for a long time in Punchestown and cut out quick but there he found plenty for pressure.
“I don't know if they will keep him going or not but I'd imagine they will.”
