Two Chevalier winners at Dundalk
Barrow Island (9/4 this morning into 5/4) gave the stallion Chevalier his second winner in as many races when convincingly landing the Dundalk Stadium on Facebook Maiden.
Supporters of the Michael-Halford trained four-year-old were always on pretty good terms with themselves and once Gary Carroll asked the five-times previously raced 77-rated performer to go about his business there was only going to be one result. He went on to beat Hot Sand by two lengths.
Michael Halford wasn't present as he is in Dubai, however Carroll remarked: "He travelled super and picked up really well. He enjoyed the surface."
Helen Smith owns this attractive colt and her husband Mattie said: "We breed a few and Michael was very bullish about this fellow. He had the form in the book and he was second to Unaccompanied (Triumph Hurdle runner-up) at Galway."
