Twinlight powered away in the closing stages to run out an impressive winner of the Ladbrokes Ireland Fortria Chase at Navan today, giving trainer Willie Mullins a treble on the card.
Ruby Walsh produced the 10/3 shot to challenge at the second last and a slight mistake didn't stop his progress.
He hit the front before the last and pulled clear on the run-in for a seven-and-a-half length victory over 3/1 joint-favourite Days Hotel
The winner, who was making his return to action, will now bid for a repeat success in the Hilly Way Chase at Cork next month.
“That was a nice surprise as I thought the ground might be a bit too dry,” said Mullins.
“Ruby gave him a super ride and kept filling him up with air. He jumped great.
“The Hilly Way at Cork looks the next place. We'll run in whatever we can over two miles as that's his optimum trip.”
Baily Green well backed from 9/2 into 3/1 joint favourite, trailed in last of the six finishers. He was reported to be distressed post race.
