Expensive breeze-up purchase Twilight Jet got off the mark at the third time of asking in the featured Irish EBF Median Sires Series Race at Tipperary.
The 4/1 shot raced in fourth as Loveday and Harmony Rose set the pace in this five-furlong dash.
Harmony came to claim Loveday inside the furlong pole as Twilight Jet attempted to unleash his challenge wide of the pair in third.
Twilight Jet ran on strongly in second in the final 100 yards to get up close home without Leigh Roche having to get overly serious with him.
He took the first prize for Michael O'Callaghan by a length from 11/8 favourite Harmony Rose. There was a two and a half length gap back to Loveday (3/1).
Roche said: "We thought an awful lot of this horse before we ever ran him and that's why he has the name he has. Coming from the breeze-ups, you're thinking they're going to be sharp and know their job but he is just so laid-back at home and took the two runs.
"The last day (in the Marble Hill Stakes) I thought I was going to win at one stage but met trouble and the slow ground caught him. He will improve a lot more from this and he needs a good strong gallop like today and something to aim at."
The winner completed a full circuit of the track after the race and Roche added: "I couldn't pull him up and couldn't get a swing out of him. He has a big engine and hopefully will be the first one for Ascot."
Twilight Jet made £210,000 at the Doncaster Breeze-up Sale.
