Colin Keane completed a timely treble at Dundalk this evening as the Jockeys' Championship leader moved three clear of Bill Lee (84-81) when steering Chica Power to a short-head success in the Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Handicap (div II).
Three-time champion Keane had earlier won on Cursory Exam and Skip James and competed the hat-trick on Chica Power, which narrowly defeated Eglish
Winning trainer Ciaran Murphy later commented “she had a lovely run here the last night and Siobhan (Rutledge) did nothing wrong but was suspended this evening. We went for Colin and he was at his best.
"We switched it around a bit and had the visor on tonight - we felt she didn't get the full mile here the last night. This was the race for her and we are delighted with her."
