Tribal Path recorded his sixth win this year when adopting customary front-running tactics to land the featured Dore & Co Solicitors Handicap at Bellewstown.
The near mile event was run in a downpour, causing the going to be changed to heavy after this race, but it proved no problem to Damian English’s highly progressive gelding.
The six-year-old has already gone up a total of 25lb in the ratings this year having won three times on the all-weather at Dundalk, and also scored on testing ground at both Cork and Leopardstown prior to this success.
The son of Giant’s Causeway bounced out of stall nine and Donagh O’Connor soon got him over to the rail.
The 5/1 chance asserted over a furlong out, and kept on really well to beat Total Demolition by a length and three quarters, with Credit The Giver staying on a further length and a quarter back in third.
English said, “I was disappointed he didn’t get into Chester, and then annoyed when he got stuck in the stalls at Leopardstown.
“He’s entered in the Scurry but he’d need soft or heavy ground over six furlongs. Galway is the plan after that, and I think the big seven-furlong handicap on the Sunday is the race for him. He should have a mark to get into that now.”
