Trebles at F'house for Elliott & O'Leary

Trainer Gordon Elliott and owner Michael O’Leary’s have gone doubles and trebles ‘mad’ recently and the pair completed respective hat-tricks at Fairyhouse today as Monkshood completed his own treble in the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle under jockey Jack Kennedy, who was riding a double.
O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud is enjoying massive success in recent weeks and while the outfit won an earlier race with the Henry De Bromhead trained Mind’s Eye, 17 of their 20 winners in the past fortnight have been with Elliott.
Elliott, who is nearing a third consecutive Irish century of seasonal winners with 96, later commented “he’s (Monkshood) a big, honest, galloping horse. He’s probably more of a three-miler to be honest. We might keep him for something like the three-mile novice hurdle at Limerick over Christmas. I like his attitude and hopefully he’ll be a nice horse.”
Elliott’s earlier winners were Gigginstown’s Woods Well and Osco Mosco who supplied jockey Davy Russell with a double.
