Fuji Mountain completed a treble at Sligo for Willie Mullins (only had three runners) as he ran out a comfortable winner of the concluding Sligo Rovers Race Day 5th August Flat Race.

Second to Woodland Opera on his debut at Leopardstown in January the son of Diamond Green was well-fancied to go one place better today.

Having opened on-course at 8/11 he was sent off the clear 8/13 favourite.

Settled in mid-division he improved into third from three furlongs out. He cruised through to challenge on the outer entering the straight and he hit the front at the furlong pole, keeping on well from there to score by three and a quarter lengths. Bertie Bell finished second under Declan Lavery for Brian Hamilton at 7/2 while Lady Dromlac (10/1) was a further length and three parts back in third under Jamie Codd for Tom Hogan.

Winning rider Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "He's a half-brother to Blackstairsmountain, and is quite a decent horse.

"He could go to Galway for a winners' bumper or even a mile and a half maiden. He's got plenty of speed, and we have been lucky with that family bred by my mother."

Willie Mullins was earlier successful with Bachasson (4/11) in the first and Long Dog (2/7) in the third.
