Ash Tree Meadow (8/13f) completed a hat-trick of consecutive wins today and a daily double for his trainer Gordon Elliott, landing Killarney's Rentokil Initial Novice Chase under jockey Jack Kennedy.
The six year old made all the running in an easy six lengths win over The Little Yank to move Jockeys' Championship leader Kennedy, earlier successful on the Paul Power-trained Shannon Glory to the 25-winner mark for the season.
Elliott had won today's opener with The Insider under Jordan Gainford, and following his double reported “at Wexford in May the ground was very quick and he got a fright (jumping right) but he was good there. He did it well and was also good in Perth the last couple of days.
“I'll give him a break now and bring him back for Cheltenham in October. He is a grand horse.”
