East Of Tara readily defied a 10lbs rise for last month's course win when winning the Irish News The Last Line Race at Dundalk this evening, helping her trainer Jim Bolger to share the lead in the Trainers' Championship of the Winter Series.
Ridden by Kevin Manning, the daughter of Barathea was restrained in rear before being produced with her challenge over a furlong out, eventually quickening up very well for an easy win over Kalacan
Afterwards Ger Flynn, travelling head lad for Bolger, said “she is improving the whole time and loves the surface. She is in at Limerick and we'll try for something similar.”
The win moves Bolger onto the 13 winner mark for the Winter Series, level at the top of the Trainers' Championship with Eddie Lynam. The Series finishes tonight with Manning needing another winner to join Jockeys' Championship leader Wayne Lordan on 12 winners.
