Trader causes a surprise at Leopardstown
The Foxrock Handicap caused a surprise when 20/1 outsider Money Trader came home in front under Chris Hayes.
Hayes settled his mount towards rear and made his progress to join leaders entering the straight.
Jim Gorman’s charge took up the lead from over a furlong out and kept on well to score by a cosy two lengths.
A delighted Gorman said afterwards: “The plan was to run here and then maybe go for the Scurries next weekend.”
“I’m not sure what we’ll do now as he stayed so well, we’ll look for something over Derby weekend.”
“He’s won over every trip now, he’s definitely the toughest horse I’ve ever trained.”
