Tough Jayed gives Weld and Smullen a double
Jayed Jidan wins the last at Galway

Jayed Jidan made heavy weather of it but at odds of 1/5 he got home to bring up a quick double for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen in the finale, after they'd been successful half an hour previously with Lucky Kitten at Galway.
Weld (5th winner of the week and now level with Tony Martin) remarked afterwards: "I warned everyone before that he'd hate that ground and so it proved.
"He's a top of the ground horse and a little bit delicate and light.
"He did what he had to do – he's a brave horse as he hated the ground and Pat said the same thing."
In the extended mile event, Sweet Refusal (nibbled at at fancy prices) made a bold bid to make all the running and she looked like she might succeed into the straight.
However Jayed Jidan's heart is obviously in the right place and he found enough at the end of the Tote Return All Profits To Irish Racing Maiden to beat the pace-setter by three and a half lengths. (TW & EM)
