The market principals dominated in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Navan with 7/4 favourite Tonabrocky (from 5/2) obliging from second in at 3/1, Deep Speed
Unfortunate at Galway last time, Jim Bolger's Tonabrocky (Kevin Manning aboard) stayed on too powerfully for Deep Speed (Joseph O'Brien bidding for a four-timer) – three parts of a length separated them at the line. The pair left Amber Romance all of eight and a half lengths back in third.
Bolger stable representative Ger Flynn said: "He handled the conditions well and he's a tough, game horse.
"He battled really well and he should make a nice three-year-old hurdler for someone.
"He was a little bit unlucky at Galway last time when carried a bit wide." (AM & EM)
