Tom McGreevy made all for James O'Sullivan and wasn't for passing in the opening West Tyre Maiden Hurdle over an extended two miles one furlong at Ballinrobe.
The 2/1 favourite Spick And Span was pushed along by Simon Torrens to close on the leader at the last of the eight flights.
Tom McGreevy got away from it well, though, and hugged the rail turning for home. Spick And Span could make no impression in the final furlong and Tom McGreevy increased his advantage to four and a half lengths at the winning post.
He obliged at 7/2 from the 'jolly' who was three and three quarter lengths in front of Noble Birth (10/3).
Trainer Liz Doyle said: “He got his own way in front a little bit and was able to save something for the home turn.
"He’s a headstrong horse who needs to be left alone in front and today they let him do his own thing. We’ve been taken on for the lead in previous races.
“Around a sharp track like this, being on the front end really suited.
“He might go back handicapping now.”
