The James Gogarty Stone Handicap caused a surprise when 20/1 shot Toberogan from the Willie Murphy stable came home in front under Keagan Latham in the colours of John Murphy.

Winning trainer Murphy said afterwards: “He won here last year. Keagan was fabulous on him, he gave him a great ride.”

“He followed my instructions to a tee. I walked the track earlier and I couldn’t believe the horses were coming up by the rail as the ground is good by the wings of the hurdles.”
