Trainer Jim Bolger's decision to turn out his Tobann quickly following her runner-up effort at the Curragh last Saturday paid off in spades with an invaluable win in the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse today.
The daughter of Teofilo had previously been placed in Listed company but, having run with credit in a Premier Handicap on Saturday, emerged with a black-type win today, scoring well under Kevin Manning and defeating Majestic Queen by a length and a half.
Bolger wasn't present but his representative Ger Flynn later stated “she has been knocking at the door and had to give a lot of weight away at the Curragh the last day but the seven furlongs trip and firm ground are the key to her. She has black-type now and I'm sure she'll be aimed at something similar.
“Kevin said she travelled very well and was very sweet today and was delighted with her.”
