Champion Jockey Paul Townend registered a third career win for trainer Jessica Harrington at Sligo today as Donthavetime justified 15/8 favouritism in winning the opening Enniscrone (Mares) Maiden Hurdle.
A final flight faller, when challenging for second, at the venue just 12 days ago, the daughter of Westerner today held off the late challenge of Hurricane Georgie on the run-in to score a half length win.
Afterwards Townend stated “that makes up for a disappointment here the last day when we were on the ground (last flight faller). She seemed to have learned from it and it’s nice to ride a winner for Mrs Harrington again.
“We mightn’t have gone past the winner (Faith Du Val) the last day but we might have given her a race for it.
“When Padraig Roche’s mare (Via Rosa) made a mistake and went at the third last today, it gave us a great chance.”
