As the field streamed round the home bend in the finale at Dundalk it looked like Time Travel had a big job on his hands to fend all his rivals off, but Rory Cleary galvanised him to do just that. The Black Devil on the inside, looked to be cutting into the leader’s advantage, but he never quite got on terms and went down by half a length.

Felisha, on the outside, was the only other challenger, however, she had to settle for third, beaten a length and a half.

Time Travel came home at 20/1. In fact only one other horse went off at bigger odds.

“He finished fourth over course and distance the last day,” successful trainer Damian English said.

“It’s unfortunate that because I’m a restricted trainer I’m short in the number of horses I can run so I had to take him out of training to put All Ablaze in training.

“The break probably did him good anyway. The Turf Club only granted me permission to have an extra two horses in training recently.

“Off 47 I thought he could win if he got his confidence back. I’ll see what the handicapper does and look for something similar.

“He’ll go back on grass. He handles yielding there.”
