Tiger leaves it late in bumper
Red Tiger was produced with a strong late run by Patrick Mullins to claim the concluding bumper at Listowel. Aughnacurraveel kicked on turning for home in the two-and-a-half mile event and looked set to collect but 5/2 favourite Red Tiger really started to motor in the final furlong.
He got up in the closing stages to record a convincing two-and-a-half length win. Aughnacurraveel just held second by the narrowest of margins from the staying on Massinimoss
"He has just improved recently", said winning trainer Willie Mullins afterwards.
"That's him finished with bumpers - he'll go hurdling and should make a nice staying novice over two-and-a-half plus.
"One of the owners Mike Krishnan travelled over from Qatar to see the horse run today."
