- Thrilling finish to Grade 3 Novice
Thrilling finish to Grade 3 Novice
The Buck House Novice Chase provided a thrilling finish with the Paddy Flood ridden Rare Bob and Ruby Walsh aboard Trafford Lad battling it out all the way to the line where the pair got very close in the closing stages. Dessie Hughes' Rare Bob just getting up to pass the judge by the minimum of margins.
However, following a lengthy Stewards Enquiry the Stewards reversed the placings of the first two horses and called Dusty Sheehy's Trafford Lad the winner.
Dusty Sheehy said, "The horse had no gallop but was ready enough for today. He was always going to start here and that trip was his minimum. We will go for the Drinmore Chase at Fairyhouse next, we won't over race him."
Sheehy also added when leaving the Stewards Room, "We were always going to get the race after what I saw on the video."
