On her 19th attempt Thisonesforollie triumphed for the first time over racecourse fences, bridging a gap back to 2018 since her last win, when taking the Tipperary finale.
Winning trainer Denise Foster’s Cullentra horses are generally running very well now, and Denis O’Regan got a good tune from Thisonesforollie (20/1) so see off An Droichead Eile by a length and a half in the Racing Again August 6th Beginners Chase.
The other Foster runner, The Abbey (11/2 shot under Jack Kennedy) was eventually pulled up.
"She has been placed very well to win today and she had a very good run here back from a break. She liked the track and I still got there too soon on her but the race fell apart in front of her,” said O’Regan.
"She wants good ground so it wasn't ideal today but got the job done. She deserved her turn."
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of War Eagle trained by P.F.O'Donnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped slowly.
P.T. Enright, rider of Ballydunblaze trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.
