Touch The Eden made it third time lucky over fences when providing Ruby Walsh with a winner on his only ride of the day in the Follow Navan Facebook Beginners Chase.
We hadn't seen the French-bred, previously victorious in a Thurles maiden hurdle back in November 2012, since New Year's Eve at Punchestown.
He eased out in the betting for this two and a half miler, from 1/3 to 2/5 but the Willie Mullins-trained, Mrs Susannah Ricci-owned hotpot was well-positioned throughout.
Asked to go and win his race from the second last, Touch The Eden, second on his two previous chase starts, soon asserted. At the line he had eight lengths in hand on the veteran Chestnut Charlie
Mullins commented: "He's a safe jumper and we'll probably be looking towards the home novices. He'll appreciate better ground."
Unfortunately Keith Donoghue reportedly suffered a suspected broken leg in a last fence fall from Admiral Bob in this race. (AM & EM)
