Love made it third time lucky at Leopardstown today as the Aidan O'Brien trained filly landed the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden under the trainer's son and jockey Donnacha O’Brien.
A neck runner-up on her previous start at the Curragh in June, she today made virtually all the running but had to battle to see off the strong challenge of Soul Search inside the final furlong when eventually scoring a head win.
Afterwards jockey O'Brien said “she’s done it well. She was actually still a bit green and was hanging off the fence on the wrong leg for a bit.
“She just got lonely in front and when Colin (Keane on runner-up Soul Search) came to me she found another gear and went on. I’d say there was plenty more in there.
“Another furlong would suit her.”
