Gaoth Chuil (3/1f) registered a third career success at Leopardstown today, landing the Leopardstown Members (Mares) Handicap Hurdle for trainer Ted Walsh, jockey Shane O'Callaghan and owner/breeder Michael Ryan.
Out of Ryan's dual Royal Ascot runner-up racemare Elyaadi, Gaoth Chuil was having her third consecutive run at Leopardstown today, racing prominently throughout before scoring by five lengths from Banada Bridge
Trainer Walsh reported “she had a good run here at Christmas over a trip which was a bit short for her and had a good run the last day when she would have finished fifth, but got mangled at the last.
“He dam was placed in the Queen Alexandra Stakes over two-six and won a November Handicap here over two miles so she's bred to get five miles!
“Michael (Ryan, owner) will be mad to go to Liverpool and there is a conditional jockeys' race there for her, maybe she'll run in that.”
