Monzoon gained a third career win at Dundalk today, landing the Story Of Dundalk Stadium Book Handicap at Dundalk for trainer Ross O'Sullivan and jockey Mikey Sheehy.
The four year old was previously successful at the Louth venue in September 2020 and at the Curragh last August and today scored a head win over Rocky Dreams
Afterwards O'Sullivan, whose wife Katie Walsh gave birth to baby Ted O'Sullivan this week, reported “he won around here last year and he loves a quick surface. The sire Bated Breath also had a winner here in the first (Torn) and they love that fast surface.
“I was a bit worried as he's won twice over a mile, but there was no race coming up over a mile, so we said we'd chance the seven. I thought it might be a little sharp for him but he galloped well to the line today.
“It's great to have him, he's won three races now, and the owner John Bowden has been very good to us. He'll probably campaign away for the winter up here and he seems to be getting better with time.”
