Thinking Of You (3/1 second favourite) made a winning debut for Joseph O’Brien and Wayne Lordan in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden at Limerick.
Owned by the Coolmore partners, the successful daughter of American Pharoah was one of a few to finish off well, after Fermoy went for her race from the front down the straight.
At the finish Thinking Of You had half a length and a head to spare over Colfer Kay (11/4 market-leader) and Palifico
"She jumped a little bit slowly from stall 16, which meant it was going to be hard. The front couple quickened and she did well to quicken as well as them. I won well at the line,” reported Lordan (deputising for Shane Crosse).
"She feels a smart type."
The Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Elizabethan (USA), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.A. Heffernan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.A. Heffernan for 1 raceday.
