Theriverrunsdeep bridged a gap of two years without a win when recording her fourth course victory in division one of the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap.
The seven-year-old mare went close over this six-furlong trip last time and had to survive a stewards’ enquiry after things got close on the stands side in the straight.
The well-supported 7/2 chance edged right well over a furlong out to join James Henry up against the stands side rail, with Senado Square switched left after being short of room.
The two principals came close about a furlong out but Theriverrunsdeep kept on well in the closing stages under Leigh Roche to prevail by a head.
Senado Square kept on one paced a further length and a half back in third.
Successful owner/trainer Seamus O'Donnell said, "She had a good run the last day. It was a competitive little race there, she did it well and galloped to the line."
