Sean Treacy's Theatre Wine produced a 33/1 shock in the bumper at Wexford in seeing off Inchiquin High
The five-year-old King's theatre mare was having her second racecourse start after a seventh place on debut at Gowran Park.
In this contest she raced in the lead on the inner and was still going strongly in the gruelling conditions as Inchiquin High emerged as a danger in the final quarter of a mile.
However, Theatre Wine wasn't for passing as she kept up the gallop and put Inchiquin High (7/2) away by two and a quarter lengths with Richie Deegan steering her home. Arbor Des Champs stayed on from the rear to get up for third at 8/1 albeit 15 and a quarter lengths behind the winner.
Sean Treacy said: "I won't say it was unexpected. She is a nice filly but I was a bit disappointed with her in Gowran on her first start. I think it was maybe the tacky ground that caught her there. She loved that today, she is a nice filly and she goes well. It was only her second run and she is a well-bred filly. She is out of a good mare (Mistletoeandwine) that I trained myself and she had small black type.
"I always thought she was a nice filly and she battled back well. Richie was very good on her. He rode her at Gowran and he said she wasn't able to handle the tacky ground. He sat up on her three furlongs out when her chance was gone. That's probably one of the reasons she collected today, that she didn't get a punishing race.
"There is a mares bumper at Punchestown and she might go for that if the ground is heavy. She is on the market." Around The Pound was punted at the track from 16/1 to 8/1 but stumbled and slipped up six furlongs out when fourth.
