The Tartan Army lands Limerick opener
Jockey Andrew McNamara was the beneficiary of Paddy Flood's Grand National fall, when substituting for Flood on The Tartan Army winner of the opening Lisaleen Maiden Hurdle at Limerick today.
Flood, who received a fall from Himalayan Trail at the first fence in yesterday's National, was stood down for the day due to sort tissue damage.
The Tartan Army made all for his comfortable seven lengths win over Echo Bob
Winning trainer Tracey Collins was absent, at The Curragh, but McNamara did report "The Tartan Army is a lovely horse but just got a little bit 'wound up' - if he calms down a bit, he is capable of improving."
