The Buck is best in Goresbridge
The Buck has been a good old servant to the John Murphy yard in the last few years and the eight-year-old gained his fourth success when taking the Goresbridge Handicap Hurdle in good style under David Splaine at Gowran.
Up the straight the chestnut son of Quws stamped his authority on this two miler but Lucky Spring emerged from the pack to give strong chase on the approach to the final hurdle. A beautiful fluent leap here from The Buck sealed the issue in his favour and he crossed the line three lengths to the good.
Ottelo Finetto, a Swedish man who resides in France is the owner of The Buck and of course young Splaine is a son of top show-jumping man Robert.
