That Is The Spirit who scored over course and distance last time, is one of 10 declared for the feature at Gowran on Sunday, the www.gowranpark.ie Handicap.
Previously trained in the UK by David O’Meara, the son of Invincible Spirit was bought by current connections for 19,000 guineas at Tattersalls last October.
Having disappointed on his first two efforts for new connections, the seven-year-old made virtually all to beat War Hero by three-quarters of a length.
Handicap debutant Sometimesadiamond is an obvious danger with Kevin Manning in the saddle for Jim Bolger.
This daughter of Vocalised has been competing at a high level since winning her maiden at Fairyhouse last year and she should appreciate this drop in class.
Other leading contenders in the seven-furlong contest are Limerick winner Have A Nice Day and the Denis Hogan-trained Turbine
Johnny Feane trains Have A Nice Day and he is represented by Regum in the concluding Golf Societies Welcome Race.
This son of Frankel looks to be up against it in this four-runner contest, with Chiara Luna the stand-out name.
The Dermot Weld-trained filly was a bit disappointing in the 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh last month, but dropping in class now, she should prove hard to beat.
Weld saddles Laajidaal in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and this daughter of Teofilo appears to have solid claims after finishing second at Navan earlier this month. Birth Of Venus also filled the runner-up spot on her most recent outing at Navan and she might be able to go one place better now in the Bet Now With The Ladbrokes App Handicap.
Wayne Lordan takes the ride on Birth Of Venus, and he will be aboard the Joseph O’Brien-trained Crockford in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden. Vocal Relation Natty Dresser and Piper Bomb are a few for the shortlist in the Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap, while Full Disclosure who won at Naas on Monday, can be expected to go close in the Festival Of Speed July 15th Handicap.
