Teolane impresses as Bolger doubles up
Teolane ran out a very impressive winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden to record a quick double for trainer Jim Bolger, this time with Kevin Manning aboard.
The daughter of Teofilo made her debut at Naas earlier in the month but didn’t get the clearest of runs on that occasion finishing six lengths fourth behind Maybe at the finish.
The winner soon led and never saw another rival as she raced away winning by a convincing five an a half lengths from the odds on favourite Secretary Of State (4/5f) in second.
Masnada the dam of the winner won nine for trainer, six of them coming at the Foxrock venue.
Winning trainer Jim Bolger said afterwards: "She got bumped at Naas on her debut and that put her off. She could go anywhere. She could even take on one of Bart Cummings horses down under, but I’d have to let Dermot (Weld) do that!
"She will go to the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot now."
